Joseph takes Jesus and Mary and flees with his family to Egypt to escape Herod who wants to kill the newborn King of the Jews.17 If you invoke as Father the one who judges all people impartially according to their deeds, live in reverent fear during the time of your exile. 18 You know that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your ancestors, not with perishable things like silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without defect or blemish.

Close up of the first Divine Mercy painting, created in 1934 by Eugeniusz Kazimirowski, based on the request of Saint Faustina Kowalska and her confessor Rev. Michael Sopocko.Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who are being protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

A triumphant Jesus rises from the dead and emerges from an empty tomb to prove that He is God.After the Sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And suddenly there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.

Jesus Christ instituted the priesthood and the Eucharist at the Last Supper.26 While they were eating, Jesus took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” 27

The Lord spoke to the Prophet Ezekiel and told him that He, the Lord, will open the graves and give people new life and a new spirit. The hand of the Lord came upon me, and he brought me out by the spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me all around them; there were very many lying in the valley, and they were very dry. He said to me, “Mortal, can these bones live?” I answered, “O Lord God, you know.” Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them:

The angel Gabriel reveals to the Blessed Virgin Mary what God's plans are for her.26 And in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth, 27 to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 And he came to her and said, “Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.”

In this original artwork from the Missionaries of the Holy Family, Mary and Joseph exchange wedding vows.18 Now the birth of Jesus the Messiah took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been engaged to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. 19 Her husband Joseph, being a righteous man and unwilling to expose her to public disgrace, planned to dismiss her quietly. 20 But just when he had resolved to do this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said:

This classic icon of Saint Patrick depicts him holding a shamrock in his right hand and a Bible in his left hand.Legends about Patrick abound; but truth is best served by our seeing two solid qualities in him: he was humble and he was courageous. The determination to accept suffering and success with equal indifference guided the life of God’s instrument for winning most of Ireland for Christ. Details of his life are uncertain. Current research places his dates of birth and death a little later than earlier accounts. Patrick may have been born in Dunbarton, Scotland; Cumberland, England; or in northern Wales.

Saint Joseph, the foster father of Jesus, holds Christ as a child in this artwork by C.B. Chambers. Though it appears the Christ Child is crying, it is also possible that He is simply tired and rubbing his eyes.
How can a Christian man today best serve his family? March is traditionally remembered as the Month of Saint Joseph, and on March 19 we observe the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Saint Joseph, chosen by God to be the Head of the Holy Family, is the perfect example of how a husband can best serve his wife and children.
