Rev. Simon Esshaki, a Catholic Chaldean priest, explains the mystery of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.A Priest’s Stirring Response to Catholics’ Disbelief in Real Eucharistic Presence: Help spread the truth about the Eucharist! Chaldean Catholic priest, Father Simon Esshaki, posted a video addressing last year's Pew Study regarding Catholics’ disbelief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.

Almost 70 Percent

According to the study, almost 70% of Catholics do not believe in the real Eucharistic presence. In his video, Father Simon explains that "this has to change," and why we should continue having faith, even if we do not understand.

Here is the video on Twitter: Below is the text of the one-minute video:

A very shocking Pew Study came out in August 2019, and it said that 69% of Catholics do not believe in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, but that it is only a symbol. This is not very surprising, because even at the time of Jesus, some of those who claimed to be His disciples left Him because they did not believe this.

Jesus turned to the 12 apostles, and he asked them, "Do you also want to leave?"

Saint Peter responded on behalf of the 12 apostles. He did not say, "Lord, we’re going to stay because we completely understand all of this." Instead he said, "Lord, to whom shall we go?"

Great Mystery

So I encourage all of you to not run away if you do not completely understand this great mystery. Don't think that God, who is infinite in love, would not take extreme measures to show His love for us. He becomes a piece of bread so that we can eat His body and have eternal life! (John, chapter 6)

Happy feast of Corpus Christi, the feast of the Body and Blood of Christ. We thank Jesus on this day for His Real Presence in the Eucharist, and ask Him to strengthen our faith.

O Sacrament Most Holy, O Sacrament Divine, all praise and all thanksgiving, be every moment Thine!
