"God is Still Calling Us." Father Mike Schmitz announces his new podcast, Catechism in a Year. This is so exciting! After his amazingly successful Bible in a Year podcast with biblical scholar Jeff Cavins, Father Mike Schmitz announced he will launch a new podcast on January 1, 2023.
Catechism in a Year
The new Catechism in a Year podcast will go through the entire Catechism of the Catholic Church with 365 episodes (one per day). Father Mike will narrate the episodes and feature special guests, including his Bible in a Year co-host, Jeff Cavins.
"We take a little section of the Catechism every single day, read it, explain it, and expand upon it," Father Mike said in a video announcement.
"If your experience was that Bible in a Year moved your life, and brought you closer and closer to the Lord, the Catechism in a Year – I’m telling you – will put your life – your prayer life, your relationship with the Lord, into hyper-drive. It's not going to be overwhelming. I promise you. At times, the Bible is hard to follow and hard to understand. The Catechism can also be at times a little difficult, a little dense."
"But hopefully, you’ll have a guide (Me!). Hopefully, your guide will be good enough to be able to say, 'Okay, in these complicated, dense moments, here's what it means, and here's what it means to you.' It will be the kind of thing where you can follow along and realize God speaks to us. He speaks to us through His Word, He speaks to us through the Sacraments, He speaks to us through His Church."

Father Mike and Jeff Cavins' Bible in a Year podcast became the most popular Catholic podcast of all time, holding the number one spot on iTunes for several consecutive months. It toppled NPR, NBC, New York Times, iHeartRadio, and more. The show generated 300 million downloads and almost seven billion total listening minutes. It also landed a billboard in New York City’s Times Square from December 19, 2021 – January 9, 2022.
